# Football identity assets

132 club emblems cover every team in the bundled 2026–27 calendars; eight
competition emblems replace country flags and the former generic UCL symbol.
RPL and hockey continue using their existing local assets.

Primary collection: [JoseArroyave/football-logos](https://github.com/JoseArroyave/football-logos),
revision `1b8e57c3ea3658001cafba18c4a6db730b420ad6` (retrieved 2026-09-04).
Its repository MIT notice is preserved in `LICENSE-JoseArroyave.txt`.
The collection credits football-logos.cc as its original asset source.
Logos identify clubs and competitions editorially; the repository license does
not transfer ownership of their trademarks or imply endorsement.

Compact alternative artwork is sourced from Wikimedia and football-data.org
for Coventry City, Académico de Viseu, Troyes, Sevilla, Getafe and UEFA Champions
League. `manifest.json` records each exact download URL and raw/normalized hash.
Some heraldic SVGs include self-contained bitmap details; they are not remote
image wrappers. All imagery is served locally, never hotlinked from page views.

`tools/football_logo_map.json` is the reviewed, league-scoped identity map.
`tools/sync_football_logos.py` downloads a complete batch before publishing it,
rejects executable SVG and external media, removes editor metadata, and supplies
missing viewBoxes from the source dimensions without changing crest geometry.

Verify offline:

```sh
python3 deploy/wordpress-seo/plugins/sila-sporta-bookmakers/tools/sync_football_logos.py --check
```

Source mechanics and license explanations deliberately stay out of match-center
banners. Existing concise match-level credits and timestamps remain intact.
